Thanks for your comments Jason. You are right that our approach to sex is influenced by the society around us. Some cultures have a completely different experience than the one most Americans and American-influenced societies do.

Men are not the ones to blame for the current American approach to sex. I was very careful in my article not to blame anyone — rather, showing where it stems from. And I’m hoping that a shift of our mind set will change things for the better for both men and women.
