Thanks Aileen Hoffman de Burbure, I was also practicing a bit of EC with my dauther and also witnessed it done while I was staying with a famiy at a more rural area in India.

So, as you mentioned, extending a similer philosophy into eliminating blood during menstruation is only natural.
